What we can do for you!

These bullet points provide a basic outline for interior painting, but it’s important to follow best practices and manufacturer guidelines for specific products and techniques.

  • Prepare the room: Remove furniture, cover floors and fixtures with drop cloths, and use painter’s tape to protect trim, baseboards, and adjacent surfaces.
  • Clean surfaces: Remove dust, dirt, and grease from walls and trim using a mild detergent solution and a sponge or cloth. Allow surfaces to dry completely before painting.
  • Patch and repair: Fill any holes, cracks, or imperfections in the walls with spackling compound or joint compound. Sand the patched areas smooth once dry.
  • Prime the walls: Apply a coat of primer to the walls to create a uniform surface and improve adhesion for the paint. Choose a primer suitable for the type of paint and surface being painted.
  • Choose paint colors: Select the desired paint colors and finishes for the walls, trim, and ceiling. Consider factors such as lighting, room size, and existing decor when making your choices.
  • Apply paint: Start by cutting in around the edges of the room with a brush, then use a roller to apply paint to the larger wall surfaces. Work in small sections and maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks.
  • Apply multiple coats: Depending on the color and type of paint, multiple coats may be necessary to achieve full coverage and depth of color. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next.
  • Paint trim and details: Once the walls are dry, use a brush or smaller roller to paint trim, baseboards, doors, and other details. Take care to create clean, straight lines and smooth finishes.
  • Touch up and clean up: Once the paint is dry, inspect the walls for any missed spots or imperfections and touch up as needed. Remove painter’s tape while the paint is still slightly tacky to avoid peeling. Clean brushes, rollers, and other equipment with soap and water or according to manufacturer instructions.
