Preparation

During this process we’ll:

  • Cover floors, furniture, and walls
  • Shut off and disconnect light features
  • Lightly spray surface with water
We’ll be careful not to oversaturate to prevent damage to the drywall.
Remove Previous Texture

During this process we’ll:

  • Scrape off previous texture
  • Power sand if needed
  • Check joints for cracks and mud
Expert removal is recommended as materials may be harmful.
Prime & Paint

During this process we’ll:

  • Potentially skim coat surface to ensure a smooth, flat ceiling
  • Prime ceiling for paint
  • Apply 2 coats of paint (letting it cure in between)
We will paint the ceiling using brands that you can trust.
Clean Up

During this process we’ll:

  • Perform touch-ups as needed
  • Clean and remove materials
  • Set furniture back into place

Texture removal Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the popcorn removal process typically take?

It is dependent on the size of the area, but it typically takes between 3-6 days for the whole removal process to be complete.

Can I switch from popcorn to a different type of texture?

Once the old texture has been removed and the ceiling repaired, you may choose to have another type of texture in its’ place such as knockdown, orange peel or just smooth ceilings.

Can I have my ceilings painted after removing the texture?

Yes! Once the texture has been removed and ceiling has been properly addressed, it may then be painted.

How do you remove the texture?

If the ceiling has never been painted prior to removing popcorn, it can be scraped off. However, if the ceiling has been painted previously, the popcorn texture would need to be power sanded.

Will my furniture get dusty and/or damaged in the process?

With our meticulous process, we will make sure to protect your valuable things from dust.

Do I need to paint the walls if I am repairing my ceiling?

It is not needed per say, but we highly encourage to paint the walls afterwards to freshen up the whole space. Additionally, wanting to paint your walls afterwards will speed up the prep process as we would not need to cover the walls.
